Karen Block is hard of hearing and grew up with a father who had hearing loss. She understands firsthand the challenges hearing loss can bring, both personally and within a family. Karen’s mission is to educate and guide not only patients but their families through the journey of improved hearing.
As a licensed hearing instrument specialist, Karen focuses on education, thorough evaluation, and providing personalized hearing solutions to meet each patient’s unique needs. Over the years, she has helped hundreds of people in Georgetown and the surrounding area regain their hearing ability.
Karen has been a proud resident of Georgetown for over 12 years. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Sun City and was honored as Rotarian of the Year in 2022. In addition, she volunteers with SERTOMA, refurbishing donated hearing aids and fitting them for patients who might otherwise be unable to afford them. She is also a dedicated member of PEO Chapter JY.
Karen is married and has two grown children: a daughter living in England and a son, along with his wife, living in Tennessee.
“I feel truly blessed to have found a career that helps people live life to the fullest,” says Karen. “The moments when a patient’s face lights up because they hear a bird chirping for the first time in years, or when a loved one tears up because they no longer have to raise their voice or repeat themselves, are the most rewarding parts of my job. I wouldn’t change a thing about my career, and I’m grateful every day for the chance to bring joy and happiness to people’s lives.”
